I'm thinking that if the coil is failed it will have either a direct ground to the case - no resistance - or be open, infinite resistance.

Otherwise, one of the oldies would have something over 3 OHMs across the primary. A lot of older "performance" coils were 1.50 OHMs

Hi,

I want to bench test my coil but I can't locate the resistance specs. I have a 1957 292 I'm suspecting the coil is toast but I need some numbers. If anyone can point me in the right direction to search this info it would be appreciated.

Thanks

Mario
