I have a y block in my f100 and I need all the bolts nuts washers etc to bolt everything together on the exterior minus heads. Anyone sell a full kit? I dont want stainless or polished. Just original style.

Roy Naciwicz (don't know if I got the spelling right) sell Ford nuts and bolts and may have what you are looking for. Google the name. Or check with fordbarn.com as the members have his contact information.

Found this on Fordbarn Roy Nacewicz - 1-734-654-9450

56, whats their web site info for the stainless. I seen them used in custom show cars all the time, dont think it would be an issue.

I got a stainless engine kit off ebay. No problems with any of it. The only thing is do not use stainless on anything that you need high strength for as they are about the same as a regular bolt. Totally Stainless does sell stainless bolts that have grade 8 strength.

I have used ordinary stainless bolts and screws extensively on two cars that I built from scratch and never had a failure. Just don't use them in high strength areas as noted above.

The BS about galling is just that when a bolt or screw is used in conjunction with non stainless nuts or female threads. The thing to watch out for is stainless bolts/screws with stainless nuts. These can gall in certain instances and won't come apart. I speak from personal experience.

I have used stainless bolts to hold on exhaust manifolds and never had a problem putting them in or taking them out.

good morning

http:alloyboltz.com sells stainless kits low grade at $50 and ARP at $150, i woud be very wary were i use ordinary stainless

as i clamped a 5/16 socket head in a vise and was able to wring the head of using a shortish allen key!

i've used ARP stainless and experienced the cold welding phenomenon, always use antiseize. one thing i've no experience of but jumps to mind Helicoils are i believe stainless but antiseize should prevent problems.
