Took my tranny to a local shop and he tells me it will take 1900 to rebuild. Went and picked up the car and tranny (in about 200 pieces). Thinking I'd be better off to just find one in good shape unless there is someone out there who will do it and me right.

Where are you located? I have a Merc-O-Matic that was rebuilt but never installed because I decided to convert to a C-4.

I have a Fordo that I got with a 312 that I was told by the seller (a friend) came out of a running drivable 1956 Fairlane. If the rebuilt tranny doesn"t work out for you I'd make it cheap enough for you. Your location and shipping would be the big issue. I'd rather be lucky than good................. but good ain't bad!!

I am in North Central Illinois, near the Wisconsin Illinois State line. I have a 56 Fordo that has been rebuilt and running recently. It came out of a P Code car. The car was converted to stck OD. I also have a 57 Fordo that I was told was OK, but I don't know for sure. Let me know if you are near me and are interested.
