I am planing on replacing the ECG heads on my 312 with the Mummert Aluminium heads and a Mummert cam that is a little better than the Crane SS300B that I have now. There is a question weither the factory intake and dual quads provide enough flow for maximum horsepower. The intake is currently port matched to the intake gasket and the heads are also port matched to the intake gasket. Any other mods I may need to do to the intake. As I recall the stock teapots flow around 350 cfm each which makes 700 cfm total. I am thinking this is on the high side rather than being too little. I realize that the Mumert intake and a 600 to 700 cfm single 4 barrel MAY be better but I have been running the factory setup since '65 and I have always been satisfied with the peformance. Love the stock look also. Would I be advised to port match the Mummert heads to the intake gasket also? I am a little leary on just gringing away on a $2200 set of heads.
