Why hello Bill

Just up Rt#3 a bit here in Glen Burnie.

My 56 T Bird,57 T Bird and my Edsel have flat flywheels.I have seen that style flywheel used in trucks over the years.However they never put a 312 in a truck.

OM,

 Thanks. I am doing the all of the machine work on this 312 engine. The flywheel looks like it might have come from a junkyard years ago because you can still see some of the junkyard writing on it. I want to let my customer know so that he can make sure to get the correct clutch for it when everything is done.  I bet it came off a 292 ?

 I have a 312 flywheel out of a 56 TBird in the shop.  It appears to have a slight dish in it, the surface where the disc hits is machined slightly ( .010"  ) lower than the rest of the flywheel. It is not worn this way, it actually appears to have been machined this way from the factory. I am not sure if it is the correct flywheel or not and just wanted to see if anyone else had seen one like this ?
