My 58 ranchero came with a 292 ,3 speed OD. It was from another car with about 15K miles since a rebuild. The combo runs nice, I like the OD as it has a 3.89 rear gear. The trans leaks oil, I think it is coming from the cases. They used silicone on it, do they make gaskets for the cases? we are going to put it on the lift, dry it all off, then drive it awhile, back on the lift and inspect. Hopefully soon, they could start chucking salt on the roads any day now.

thanks, Mark
