I'm hoping someone can easily identify the intake manifold on my 1957 292. I believe it originally came with a 2 barrel, so I don't know what this is. The only identification I've found on it is cast onto the back near the firewall. ECZ-9425-B. The intake is aluminum.



When I took the air cleaner off to get pictures, I realized the manifold vacuum is teed into the fuel pump vacuum line going to the interior heat control valve. I assume this is not original plumbing for the vacuum lines. Is it something I should be concerned about? That tee makes me wonder if the fuel pump vacuum is working well. The other side of the fuel pump vacuum feeds the wipers, and they are pretty close to non-operational.

How long have you had the car? Looks to me like an aftermarket "Blue Thunder" intake that came out a few years ago.. They have been out of stock for a while, but have surfaced again on Ebay. There are two of them on there now.

yes, I'd say a Blue thunder. See the last bolt right in on the pass side? in front of the dizzy? that pretty much confirms it. Nice bonus for you to have it. 25-30hp adder.

That's one of the worst intakes there are. I'll take it off your hands for $20.00.

The box that now has the original intake in it has a shipping label with "IM-312-4V" on it, which appears to be the Blue Thunder product ID for this manifold. Well that's a nice discovery. Sorry Charlie, guess I'll have to keep it and putter around.
