Thanks everybody, problem solved. With a small body hammer I rolled up the lip on the bucket enough for the headlight door t fit. I think one of the doors was sightly smaller - maybe why I've seen some cracked ones. Mark

From what I recall at the 4 and 8 o'clock positions on the original 55 buckets they have a spring clip and screw to help centralise and support the headlight bucket.

Lyon: If you're asking are Fairlane buckets different than other 55 Fords? Not that I know of.

Hello again. No one knows?

Well, you would,nt normally have to cut the correct ones, so who knows what you,ve got, a picture if possible helps immensely. If you think cutting them to fit then do it. Smile

Hello, I am working on a "55 Fairlane and I picked up a pair of headlight buckets (they were missing from the car when i got it. There a two small notches cut in the rim of the buckets at about 4 and 8 o'clock. The corresponding tabs on the headlight doors are about 1/8 of an inch too big. Before I get out the die grinder and enlarge the notches, are the Fairlane buckets different? Thanks
