I've searched every where but I can't seem to find out what kind of paint is used to restore the numbers, hash marks and lettering on the plastic face plate of my '55 Fairlane. As you all know its a pale green colour. I don't know if it has any special properties of if its just paint. Any body know of any tricks to repaint the numbers etc.? Thanks, Mark

Bill, I hate it when that happens, I composed a nice reply to your reply and it just disappeared - up there with John Lennon's stuff. Here goes again. I bought a repo faceplate from a competitor. I assume the one Dennis Carpenter has is the same - the price is the same. I am returning the one I bought because the quality is poor. The graphics are just painted on, not inlaid like the original and it came with scratches in it. One right through the 100 which is the first place I look. If I mess something up I get over it quicker if I can't see it but it bugs me if I see it all the time. I have a couple of original ones but they need work. I have the technology to refinish the plastic but a unsure of what paint to use and the best way to apply it. Thanks, Mark
