'54 did not have a heavy duty trans, so yours has to be from a different year. The rear mount pad on the trans is probably in a different location than the original, so you will need to adapt the mount.

I remember reading about this but when I did a search I could only go to 3 pages. Any way I have a 54 Ranch wagon that I am putting a 292 with over drive " the heavy duty one" well the trans mount is about 1 inch to far forward, so I started to question the motor mount direction I have the open side of the motor mount facing the firewall is that part correct?
