Can anyone help me ?? . I need to know if there is a difference in 56 -57 -58 F100 chassis . I measured my 58 at the front to by 34.5 inches . The XJ6 Jag front end I have seems to be a tad to narrow ???? Any web sites or chassis info would be a big help.

Regards Lon

Lon, the 57/58's are the same and I think that the 56 is the same. The gentleman that posted the pictures of the Jag suspension in the F100 indicated that it was a little narrow, but it must be doable. It appears that the bottom of the frame may require a notch to accept the Jag crossmember. I have located a XJ6 in my local wrecking yard, but it is setting on the ground, so I could not get any measurements and the weather is too hot at this time to pull it anyway.

Hi Lon, go to page 2/3 of this section and look for "motor mounts 54 F100", I posted some pics of my Jag XJ6 front end in the 60 panel, should be the same as yours. Can post or e-mail you direct more pics if you want. Can take pics of any thing you particulary want to view. Mine was fitted by Ian from Lilow chassis in Shepparton [Vic].

Hey Pete ,You have saved the day .Ever since I got the F100 I've been seaching the net looking for F100 with Jag front ends .I will have to find out exactly what model Jag mine is ? I think it is 31.5 inches ( inside ,upper control arms ) .I like the way you have left the stock engine mounts .If you have any more photos could you send them to me please  yblock@bigpond net.au   What gearbox are you going to use . I am thinking of a Toploader or a T5 Borg Warner .Regards Lon

Lon, hope the pics where a help, plenty more if you need them or if you need me to run a tape measure over something just ask. Forgot to mention the gearbox, I have a top loader that I have had a quick look at fitting then put it in the too hard basket for the time being. Been keeping an eye out for a T5 but haven't tried to source the right Mustang box yet. I thought about an AOD auto for a while but that is not possible with the standard bell housing "ears" engine mounts. Another option is a S10 T5, have posted a link to a site about it before but can't get it up at the moment, try a search for "Badgerland F100 truck club" It's a pictorial about fitting a S10 T5 behind a Y-block.
