There's a considerable difference between a somewhat rare 4 Dr Hd Top & a 4 dr (sedan) which was how you described it in your original posting.. Yes, with the windows down they are a fairly attractive car, although i.m.h.o. the 57s look better. Anyway, on that body style, the big problems stem from the fact that without a B pillar the doors & particularly the windows are not well supported. So, look for & expect problems with the window channels etc. Check the doors for proper closing & so on. As those models got up in mileage they spawned the term "rattle traps". Ask me, I know from personal experience with a 1957. Some of the parts needed to fix those problems are not readily available. For instance the roof line weather strip. I've never found any outfit that repros that piece.. Good luck

Where is the car located and has it spent all its time there? There is no such thing as a little rust so do a lot of inspection under the rugs and with a small magnet to detect bondo in the sheet metal. Get it up on a lift and see what shape the underside is in and check for new undercoat to conceal any rust or patch panels. NOW is the time to find out all there is to know, not after you buy. Good luck and let us know how it turns out. Pete

fond memories here of my older brother's 58!  sounds like all the heavy lifting has already been done on this one, so you can buy and drive right now...

if its a 4 door hardtop, then yes its a pretty body style... no "B" pillar in the way, so with the windows down, its harttop city!

4 headlights and tail lights aren't quite as pretty and clean to me as the 57 model has, but then I've got a 57 so I'm partial to that year.

sounds like a great car... especially if you drive it and like it!

So I just got off the phone with the guy who has the car. The car has a 332 Interceptor engine with a newly rebuilt 4 barrel Carb. It also has a new radiator , rebuilt generator , Pettonix Ignition with booster coil. The owner said the car is a hardtop convertible , there is no "B" post between the windows the tires are new NO rust in engine compartment or trunk slight bubbling on one rocker and some rust on on rear quarter. Oh and the interior was redone new headliner new door panels and seat cover. The rug was changed also but he said he went cheap on the rug and it could be a lil better. I would like some feed back . I do think its nice there is no "B" post is the car worth 4000
