I have one that looks like a steering wheel puller and definately isnt cutting it. Can somebody pist a pic of the correct one so I can shoot down to autozone and rent one? Thanks

Thats the exact one I have at home but it doesnt have all the exatra bolts and what not. Have you actually used that exact one before with no problem? Or should I use the one with the claws?

Don't use the ones with the claws.  If it doesn't break the pulley, it will distort it until it's not usable.  And if you clamp the claws on the rubber mounted damper ring, you will probably move the ring forward, and then it will be loose and will slip.

The pulley on the motor is just cast iron with one groove for a single belt.

Ok got the tool. Now what tool is used to put it back on?

Well the bolt wont budge. The tranny is off and all it does is turn the motor and flywheel spins

You can wedge a wrench in the flywheel bolts and have someone keep the engine from turning. There are also tools made for turning the flywheel using the teeth.



Or use an impact wrench.

Several times I have removed the fuel pump and wedged a piece of round steel about 3/8-1/2 in. diameter with right angle on end, between timing chain and cam gear (it actually is a tractor pin).  Assuming the timing set will be replaced.  Other times with clutch pressure plate off and flywheel still installed, inserted a pin through one of the flywheel threaded holes to wedge at the block.
