I'm getting ready to order a new steering idler arm kit. The regular mail order places have kits for the '54 - '56 for about $30 -$45. There is no mention of the brand. Units on ebay that claim to be NOS or NORS (Moog, TRW, McQuay Norris) are rare and considerably more - sometimes over $100. Bidding is competitive. Units for the '52-'53 cars are much more common and a lot cheaper, and for the life of me I can't see the difference between the '54-'56 kit and the '52-'53 kit (I realize that a miniscule change in shape or size can be very significant in a steering part). One guy on ebay says his part (has a Moog part number) fits '52 -'60 Fords. Another outfit on ebay has at least five of the '52-53 kits for sale for about $22 each. Since they are local to me I called about a '55 unit. They have one in stock but its $85 plus HST. Its more because they only have one. How much should I pay?
Thanks
Mark
