Talked to Larrys today when I ordered the new parts. Have to remove the trim panel according to them. Still going to be a pain. After removing the pannel I am certain I did not remove it when I replaced the pad the last time with a FOMOCO pad.

I bought the pad from Larrys and had a problem with Casco recently. I went ahead and removed the panel. Still going to be interesting. Talked to a local friend in  the St. Louis T-Bird culb today and he agrees that the repo does not fit nearly as well. He replaces them without removing the panel but I don't see how. Only problem now is I may as well replace all the engine turned panels on the dash since I have it all off and it is not cheap. May as well do it once and do it right.

Hi    Call www.classictbird.com  (  Casco ) and ask to speak to someone in the shop. They're quite helpful and honest. They told me they are hesitant to sell the repro dash covers as they are very difficult to install. I'm sure they would be willing to offer installation advice. They also sell a video of a how-to installation, but of course, the dash is out of the car and up on a bench with everything dismantled. good luck,     Barry

Anyone done one recently? Last time I did this was '73 with a factory pad. Repo does not seem to fit as well. Having problem with the bottom of the eyebrow over the guage pannel. I don't remember pulling the guage panel the last time but the new pad has excess material in this area and I am afraid to try to trim it to fit. Looks like the only safe way to do it is to pull the guage pannel and run the excess material under the panel. Also seems to be excess padding in this area.
