I am thinking about electric windows for my '56 Fairlane Club Sedan, fronts only.  Has anyone tried the products of www.Nu-Relics.com?  This kits are apparently a direct bolt-in--no cutting or fabrication--and looks like quality workmanship.  Would appreciate hearing from anyone who's "been there, done that."  Thanks in advance!

I put a set of their windows in a camaro conv about 10 years ago. Had to do a bit of rework in the rear set, but that's an unusual application, and at that time no alternatives or oem parts. They move a bit slow, but they were a modern motor, and have worked all those years with no problem. They pretty much came without instructions as I remember. I'd buy another set for the fords if I needed them, and before I tried a universal kit.

I did all my own wiring and used repop switches, like I did on my 'bird, so I can't comment on their wiring or instructions.

A friend of mine fitted NuRelic electric windows to his RanchWagon. The arms are a a direct replacement for the original. He fitted their door switches which used the standard winder arms which fit into the door trims to preserve the stock look. These switches were a little flimsy, requiring some modification. He felt that they were the one part of the system that was flaky.

When people get in the car they think they are normal winders and try to wind them up or down.

Other than that minor gripe they are excellent.

I have a set of their units in my 48. They went in easily and I am very hjappy with them. Been there about 10 years and have had only minor trouble.

Thanks all.  I'm going to order one of their kits based on your comments.  I'll let you know how the installation goes and how they work.  Ron
