The rubber has completely deteriorated on my tranny mount on my 57 Tbird. Has anyone replaced the mount before? I will be doing this on 4 jack stands as I do not have access to a hoist.

thanks

Nick, as long as you have a hydraulic floor jack to raise the trans off the mount you shouldn't have a problem.

You may have to loosen the steady rests (sides of block() to raise the rear of the trans.

The steady rest should not have to be touched. Use a floor jack or small bottle jack with a block of wood between the jack and the trans. Just jack the rear of the trans up enough to take the weight off the mount. Remove the bolts to remove and replace the mount. Prety simple.
