I have a '54 Ranch wagon upgraded to a t-85.  I recently aquired a V8 Mustang, t-5 transmission.  I bought Mummert's adapter and all that looks good. (dry run on a spare bell housing)   It does not look like there is enough clearance  above the top of the t-5 housing to my existing tranny tunnel.    i.e. the t-5 case is taller in relationship to how it bolts to the y block bell housing compared to the Borg/Warner.  Has anyone done the swap in a '54 passenger or wagon?  Did you have to cut the tunnel other than for the shifter?  Looking for advice.    Thanks, Paul
