I bought the bracket and switch for the back up light to mount to a T85 with OD. But where does it mount. Picture would be great.

Thanks,

Richard

For the full size 55/56 cars, the backup light switch mounts under the hood on the steering column.  If this is what you’re working on, I can take a picture of my ’55 wagon which still has the switch in place.

To add further to Ted's reply:  For the '55 cars, the "backup light switch" is an integral part of the "neutral-safety switch" (mounted onto the steerting column); just another set of contacts in the "right" position (reverse).

Another tidbit regarding the factory back up light wiring that I discovered after spending quit a bit of time troubleshooting. The back up light power comes from the headlight circuit so they only work when the headlights are on.

Jeff,

I hadn't ever looked at that!  Thanks for the good info.  I may wire mine up differently so as to be available when ignition is on - shouldn't be to terribly difficult to do.
