I found a EBU engine in a junk yard that looks brand new and I was wondering if this is a 239 or if it could be a 292. When I say it looks new I mean the inside of the engine is very clean like it was just put together. The cylinder heads have freeze plugs in the front which I have been told is pre 56. If the engine is nothing special are the rocker arm shafts interchangeable with other Yblock engines?
Thanks, Spanky

Spanky: That EBU engine is as far as I know a 54 car engine, cast at Dearborn only. Unfortunately some parts don't interchange with later versions. If it's in exceptional shape, somebody, say with the Crown Victoria Assoc or doing a resto might be interested in it, if you could post its location etc. I believe the rocker shafts are the same as later engines, although it's not possible to tell what shape there in, in the chassis.

Thanks for the tips. If anyone wants this thing it is at pull n save on the north side of Spokane. The engine is in a green 1960 Ford truck that is in excellent condition, lots good body parts.
