After reviewing the procedure for oil pan removal in the '56 shop manual I thought this would be a jam sandwich. But after I got the pan lose I encountered the steady rest (which wasn't mentioned in the manual). I've removed all the hardware I could find at the base of the steady rest where it attaches to the core support. I have removed the two bolts, that are near the top of the steady rest on either side, and are bolted to the engine block and it still isn't lose. Am I missing some more bolts under the crank pulley? If so how difficult is it to remove the crank pulley?
Your experience is appreciated.
Thanks
