Believe it or not,sometimes things are simpler than they first seem.If you're just interested in rebuilding a good stock engine,you can get everything you need at a NAPA store.At least the NAPA in my town carries all the parts to overhaul a Y-Block.They keep all these because there are still so many of the Y-Block equipped trucks still in normal use by farmers and loggers etc.These parts are,in general, good enough for a stock street engine.

I've gotten several thing from maddog on ePay. I also order from John Mummert and Egge Machine.



Maddog can sell you a RollMaster timing chain for a bit less than Mummert, but John's such a resource that I try to buy from him when I can.



I also got parts through my machinist.



I bought a cam from CamCraft in Maryland, a custom 'marine' grind. 112 LSA!

Check your local parts stores first.  You can even check them out on the internet, find availability and price.  Saves you shipping costs associated with epay.  Also, John Mummert has a great array of Y parts, and he won't sell inferior parts.  He sends them back if they don't meet his approval.
