Hey guys im a newbie with 57 f100 and no carb. Besides a stock one what are my options. Interchange 2v or 4v or aftermarket if am clueless please help

What engine do you have? What do you plan on doing with truck? Does it have two or four barrel manifold now?

56 Vic w/292 & 4 spd.

It has original 272 with 2bbl intake I really just want a daily driver that's a little beefy enough to hold its own. I bought it with no carb/air cleaner, battery, or gauge cluster/bezel. It had been stolen then they only took those few parts so I'm not sure the condition of motor or 3 speed trans

Other guys may have more input on this, however I am running a 272 in my 57 custom. With engine all stock and running a stock 2 barrel intake I have a Holley 2300 series 500 cfm carb. Had to jet up at first but it runs great and hasnt given me any trouble in 13 years.

Is the two barrel manifold a small pattern or large pattern?
(small like Stromberg 97, large like the 60's Holley's). Either way you can find a carb online. Depends on what you want to do. There is the aluminum manifold that John Mummert at http://www.ford-y-block.com has designed. Actually take a look at John's site to see what is out there. You can go mild to wild. But actually for a decent running street driver you have the carb option. If you want a stock type air cleaner EBAY. They pop up every so often. Also there are some members here that have a lot of parts and may be able to send you one. When we get together in Columbus, Ohio Labor day weekend there is everything from stock, restored to highly modified racers. Everybody fits in! Chuck

IMHO I would go with a stock 2 barrel to get things up and running. That will get you a daily driver and allow you to work on other details that will crop up or need attention. Then you can work your way up to other options which are of a pretty good variety. Welcome to the site. Those are cool little trucks especially with the Y

The intake looks like the the spray can orange lower pic. if i go stock carb the holley 2300 350cfm is about $400 that seams like alot to just get it running any other advice like a different manifold/carb setup i heard about the set off a thunderbird ?

Thats a better manifold. Take a look on EBAY for the carbs. Just about any later 2 barrell will work. 350 CFM is a good start for a stock motor. I Think for the $400 I would get the Holley 500CFM competition 2 barrel. But I like my vehicles to scare sbc's (scrubs). Chuck

The Ford/Autolite/Motorcraft 2 barrels from '57 up into the '70s will all fit on the 4 bolt manifold, should be able to scare one up in a local salvage yard or swap meet.  They are a simple carb and work very well.  If you can't find a manifold locally, I have one I'd sell, but shipping cast iron isn't cheap.

If you want a new carb the Holley 2300 series 350cfm is only 299.99 from Jegs. The 500cfm is 291.99. May be a little more than a used one one from a salvage yard but you dont have to rebuild it, unless your going for an all stock engine.
