After converting my 55 Fairlane to 12 volts, the timing was set by ear. A friend of mine did the timing, not sure I could time by ear so does the procedure remain the same as far as book specifications go when using the timing marks on the pully? Also are the pulleys the same size on a 1955 6volt 272 versus a 1956 272 engine?

Everything is the same between a 6 or 12 volt engine.Timing specs also are the same.If possible try and borrow a timing light and see where you are at now.

Thanks Mark, I wanted to make sure before I got a light.
