Check out this link - http://www.y-blocksforever.com/forums/Topic73993-3-1.aspx The trips may or may not have a way to use "ported" vacuum on the distributor - get back with us and we will help you out in setting the vacuum advance system set up.

A 272 bored 1/8" (.125) becomes a 292.

You can order a MSD 8383 billet drop in for "Y" blocks. I have one, but am working to upgrade a few other things before I put it in.
Two caveats...
1) According to MSD tech help you should replace the stock generator with an alternator to assure smooth clean power. Generators tend to generate a lot of electrical noise.
2) The MSD 8383 cap has male connections on it like a spark plug. So you either need some adapters or a new set of plug wires.
The '56 "Load-o-matic" distributor used a hybrid vacuum signal supplied by the original Holley 94 carburetor to compensate for RPMs etc. From what I understand it didn't work well. The MSD unit uses a straight "Above the throttle plate" vacuum signal and centrifugal weights. Either of them can be disabled.
Hope this helps.
