ECZ G heads are listed for 272 292 312. Are these heads the same for every motor or is there an internal difference. Also ECZ C heads are also listed for each engine. Thanks

Below is a link to John Mummert's website for a Cylinder Head Chart. There are some internal differences between various heads, but the bolt patterns are all the same so they are interchangable in that respect. The ECZ-G heads have bigger intake valves which makes them popular for stepping up the performance of these motors.

Thanks Rono. I checked the site and it lists ecz g heads for all three engines.272 292 312  I think the heads are the same . I thought ecz g heads were orignally 312 but they must have been on all 3 engines. Maybe the bores and pistons were different but the heads were the same. Thanks

In most cases, no single head casting was unique to a certain displacement. The G heads are not 312 heads. They are simply Y-Block heads.

Charlie's right on. I've owned 3- 57 fords with 272s and G heads on all of them.

The later posted Cleveland heads would likely be (assuming you want minimum chamber size & largest valves).

ECZ-G heads are 1957 & early 58. They have the highest stock compression. As mentioned, the later Cleveland foundary "G" heads are the strongest, in the event you wanted to mill them substantially or use domed pistons. Other wise they are all the same. The "C" heads were used on most car engines in 1956. They are o.k., some like them fine, but the intake valves are smaller & the compression is lower.
