I'm looking at a running 1959 292 with 67000 miles on it. Seller is asking $500 for the engine. I wonder what you guys
would give for a motor you know will have to be rebuilt? Also I'm wondering if there is a model year that won't work in my 54?
Thanks for your help Ralph

I am going to say $250-$300 max but I may be way off. Have not bought a used engine for many moons. If it has ECZG heads it would be a lot better and worth more. Any 292-312 will bolt right in your '54.

It really depends on condition and what comes with it. Like mentioned, desirable heads, tin parts, intake, etc comes with would up the price. It all depends on condition, even if you are planning a rebuild.

If the engine is RUNNING, has G or 113 heads, no broken parts etc then yes it is worth $500.
