I'm thinking the lower hose connection is on the wrong side for a V-8. Cooling capacity would be marginal.

There is a gentleman out of Wisconsin selling aluminum rads for 56 / 57 fords on ebay. (sorry forget the name) Just do a search for 56 / 57 rads and you will find him. Prices are reasonable and the quality is GREAT! Both my friend Alex and myself bought them and we were both very impressed.
I love the smell of burning rubber in the morning!

I was worried about the (3-core) radiator in my F-600 so when I had it recored, I had the shop install a 4-row core.
I was also considering electric fans but none of them were big enough for towing/big loads unless you get the "Super-duty" type fans which are FAR bigger than old ford radiators so I am sticking with an engine driven fan and will use a 19" 6 blade fan, with clutch and tightly cowled shroud.
Using an aluminum rad will also allow you to "up" the cap pressure a little. The rad shop shop told me that older brass/solder radiators (because of the large area upper and lower tanks) are good for only about 13 psi as an extreme upper limit. He told me no more than a 10psi cap.
Which ought to be good for 190-200F or so........
Cheers,
Rick
