Have a 56 T Bird with a rebuilt 312 that does not fire on #1 & 5 at idle. Had the carb rebuilt, new wires, new plugs, etc. Does any body have a suggestion.

Hydro; Did you check/replace the cap and rotor too? If they are good, how's the compression in those 2 cylinders? Rono

1 and 5 are next to each other. Make sure they are in the correct order. 1-5-4-8-6-3-7-2 1 2 3 4 Chuck

Check Carburator, I had an engine that was missing at idle on 4 cylinders, ran great off idle, the idle circuit was pluggged on one side, it may be missing on more than 2, its hardly noticable.
