got one a while back for cheap...

wondering if anyone is using this intake if a recommendation on a suitable small 4 bbl could be given.

running a stock 272 and would just like to install a 4 bbl just cause I want a 4 bbl carb for mostly nostalgia reasons.

should I rather just stick with my present 2 bbl?

thanks,Mark

Should work fine on a 272. Would recomend 57 up distributor no matter what carb. Limited to teapot of wcfb carter. The carter may be less trouble if you can find one to fit that manifold. I may have one somewhere if you are interested but it would need to be re built.

You can get an adapter for a newer Holley or Edelbrock similar to this one; Carb Adaptor 390 cfm would work good. Agree on the distributor.

The ’55 and ’56 4V Teapot flanged intakes are used quite successfully on the Y engines with a carb adapter and using up to 600 cfm Holleys.  While they are not horsepower monsters, they do drive around just fine and as has already been mentioned, work best when a ’57 and up distributor is also used.

An adapter and 390cfm should be just about right.

57 312's came w/a 410 cfm Holley.

57up dist is a MUST!

Regards,

Ron.

I still have the A manifold in my 56 and switching to the 57/newer type distributor and it made a noticeable improvement.
