I want to order the profressional grade top and bottom bushes and ball joints and outer tie rod ends from Rock autos, but they list nothing for a 1957 skyliner, but do list them for 1957 fairlanes and ranchwagons. Can I use the suspension and steering parts for these models on my skyliner?? thanks

Not sure but Dennis Carpenter's catalogue only lists one type of upper & lower ball joints (2 part #S) & same for control arm bushings. My control arm bushings came thru a local dealer from "Joblot" Automotive, N.Y. state, for a Fairlane 500. By the way, if your existing ball joints are bolted in style, they have been replaced already at some point. Originals are riveted in. Factory B joints are very durable given reasonable care & last a long time. My car had 50+ year old uppers still in it,.. but the arm bushings were toast..

Thanks for that. I had noticed that and just thought it was a good idea to ask you guys before I spend up large and have stuff sent from overseas only to find that it doesn't fit. My top inner bushes are well and truly flogged out so may as well do the rest. Cheers

Kenny, I used to dirt track 57's in the 70's. I never ran across any different suspension components for different models. Some guys have been complaining about the quality of the balljoints lately. I don't think moog is making them any more, probably China. I always thought the 57 frame was the same up to 64 ,front end. 65 they went to the strurt front on the lower control arms, good luck.

thanks, Mark

As I recall the only parts that were different were front and rear springs and the front sway bar was heavier on the station wagon. Wagon rear springs had an extra leaf and there were different front springs for wagons and AC cars. The T-Bird front suspension was the same as the '56 Ford but the rear springs were '57 Ford.
