I am also curious about that Borgenson unit, can it be installed with a manual trans, or is that going to be another problem?

Once i get back to the house next week i will figure out how to get pics uploaded and show the rack install and the pump will probably come from a new charger bunhavnt decided yet it would be nice to get a manual rack for the same aplication bc turning it without the pump now is way easier than the stock manual steering even the old lady can manuver it around the yard

I am going with an electric power steering pump and i used the same rack that unisteer uses its from an early 90s grand am 80 bucks at the parts house and made my own brackets.
Dont judge me, you dont know my situation.

Thats just the simple add on pulley needed to drive the power steering pump. Most of us have at least one laying around. I think John Mummert has some new aluminum ones too. Chuck

Looking at the instructions for the Unisteer unit for a 57-59.
"If your car did not come with power assist you will need to purchase a crank pulley from a ford shop or an aftermarket company."

You really have to question alot of these companies that advertise power steering conversions for our 55-56 cars. Most WILL NOT work if you have a manual transmission with stock mechanical clutch linkage. It's easier if you have an automatic or design a hydraulic clutch set-up. Rono

Cactus, The Unisteer looks like a nice kit but expensive. While I was perusing for power steering (and still am) a couple of things concerned me about the The Unisteer kit. One is nowhere do they show or mention a pulley for the crankshaft and two is the statement "This is a bolt-in kit that comes with everything needed to install for a factory equiped car." Does this mean it has to be a car that had power steering from the factory? maybe I'm reading more into it than necessary but looks to me This "complete kit" requires you to provide your own crank pulley (Altho, again it never mentions it). The PROPER pulley may be hard to obtain. Just some random thoughts from someone else shopping for Power Steering.
