I have a 1955 Ford Crown Vic and plan on installing a Holley 390 to my 292 engine.  The Holley 390 is advertised as having a Ford Kick-down for the transmission.  Will this kick-down work on the Ford-o-matic transmission?

Do you plan on running cables?? If you go with the original linkages the "kick down" rod comes off the bell crank [nothing at the carb], you'll be fine..

The kickdown on the Holley I see in my mind is a separate lever on the carb.  This lever is kickdown only, as used on C4, FMX, and C6.  The "kickdown" linkage on the original Fordomatics is also the control for throttle pressure within the trans.  If you have kickdown only linkage, you will not have a way to adjust upshift points, and anything but very light throttle opening will have slow, low speed upshifts, and premature wear of clutches and bands due to lower pressures in the trans.  Later transmissions have vacuum modulators to control pressures and the kickdown lever is for downshift only.  You can get by without a kickdown on the later transmissions if you are willing to manually shift down to pass a slower car.
