i was at the Turlock swap meet in CA last weekend and came across a guy selling old edelbrock Y covers. he was asking $870 a pair!

i thought he was crazy. i checked ebay a couple hours ago and found another guy selling them for $1,200 a pair!

is it me or was it like yesterday you could get these for about $350 a pair at a swap meet or on the epay?

what happened?

here's that epay link that is NOT mine or anybody i know. reference only folks.

Is this the same seller that had a rare set of Edmonds valve covers which are still available new today for about the same price.

These blokes just price stuff that they are half-assed about selling and don't want to feel sellers remorse about later. Hey I feel sorry for him but you would have to be brain dead to pay that price. (No I don't really feel sorry for the shark)

If someone buys them that must be what they are worth nowadays.

Just my thoughts.

Snowcone,

Have a look at this http://www.parts123.com/parts123/yb.dll?parta~dyndetail~Z5Z5Z50000106a~Z5Z5Z5AAAIJ~P255.00~~~~S3PJ0AWMIW11476297851e~Z5Z5Z5~Z5Z5Z50000106a

Fenton valve covers were rare but now that they are being reproduced? A good deal at twice the price Wink pay for another set.

cheers

Warren

Warren, Rick, Snowcone , coindentialy that guy called me yesterday looking for a set of polished alloy covers for his y block, i spent 20 mins informing him of the popular ones avail and generall prices, $300-$400 range, then he mentioned he had fenton set, i guess he has to sell these to pay for new set? who knows. but i see he,s taken the liberty of useing my photo of my set and engine etc, the single cover would be his. Did I read that right? $255 for the set from that link you posted? That looks like a good deal to me.

A buddy of mine had a genuine set of NOS Tbird valve covers like the 1200 job in the other link. I took a look at them and told my friend, nah.... I don't think so. My friend went up to Hershey, PA and sold them for $425. I thought that was too much, lol
