These types are what hurts online sales. The vast majority of the people out there are honest about what they are selling. But that just makes it harder to weed out the chumps. Always make sure you read the entire ad. There was one I saw with a dirt cheap price on a 57 Thunderbird. Had great pictures of a very nice bird. After he last line of text I had to scroll down about 2 pages of blank to get to the line at the bottom of the page. It said "auction is for picture only". I contacted EBAY but the auction closed with bids before they did anything. By the way contacted EBAY is now outsourced to the third world so expect language problems.
I have often thought we should have a block on this forum where we can post the names and info on sellers that are bad. I would list identifying information and web sites. This would have to be kept to serious offenders though and only after exhausting efforts to have the problem corrected.
I have only had a couple of bad experiences on EBAY over the last 10 years and they are well offset by the succesful transactions. Not to mending finding parts that I either can't find or didn't know I needed!
If you look at the prices that are showing up for Y-block parts the nut cases are coming out of the woodwork. They all think any part is gold and price it that way. If your not sure of the fitment or value of a part post a question here!
If everyone would put a general location in their tag line it would help. We could look at members near the listed product and ask if anyone has knowledge of the seller or if they could possibly look the item over for us. I would be glad to pay a member for their gas to make sure I wasn't bidding on a "turkey". Especially when buying a complet car or driveline.
Well thats my 4 bits sorry for the long winded post. Chuck
