Does anyone know of a carb rebuilder for the Holley 4000 series 4bbl carbs that actually runs them before returning them? Thanks Jim

I recently spoke with Mike Suter as a pair of his ‘reproduction’ dual quad Teapots were being run as part of the dual quad intake test. These two carbs had been pre-run before being delivered here for testing. He was instrumental in doing some over the phone troubleshooting on the Teapot carbs in general and I found that he is indeed very knowledgeable regarding the Holley model 4000 carbs. On the ‘reproduction’ Teapots that were being used, the power valves themselves were replaced during the testing with ‘larger’ units rather than increasing the jet sizes. This kept cruise A/F ratios acceptable so that the fuel mileage would not be compromised but at the same time, full throttle A/F ratios could be maintained in a richer mode for more power production. Here’s another link where he’s also being recommended. http://www.y-blocksforever.com/forums/Topic78379-3-2.aspx#bm78632

I ditto the sentiments on Mike Suter. He has been very helpful on the "needle in a haystack" teapot parts orders that I have made in the past for the carbs I have rebuilt. Mike is always on the money. He also has a small space at Carlisle PA swap meet each year in the spring as well... sells excellent new and used odds and ends for the 4000's along with Y block goodies. Good variety too. His prices should be pretty reasonable compared to Pony Carbs, or Daytona Carbs, etc.

As some of you may know, I don't have a Y block, but rather use (2) series 4000 4 bbl carbs on a flathead Ford V8. So this is a
