I just went to the Bill Hirsh site looking for some yellow engine enamel for the 54-55 ford truck engines and dont see it listed. tried to call but he was closed. he does list and Edsel yellow engine enamel. does anybody know if this is the same yellow used on the truck engines?
 55 Vicky & customline 58 Rack Dump, 55 F350 yard truck, 57 F100 59 & 61 P 400's, 58 F100 custom cab, 69 F100, 79 F150, 82 F600 ramp truck, 90 mustang conv 7 up, 94 Mustang, Should I continue?

1954 Ford car V8 were painted the same yellow as trucks.

Are you sure Lou?i have pulled a few engines from 54 cars and dont recall them being yellow, beleive they were red. How about the Edsel yellow, is that the same as the Truck Yellow? Anybody know? or does anybody know a source for the correct yellow since Hirsh dont list it. My trucks I just do with some yellow I found in an ancient quart can that said engine enamel it was close enough for my liking but I am doing a correct engine bay restoration for a guy and don't have much of my stuff left.

The '54 car engines were more of an ivory color.

I purchased a '54 bell housing last year and it was ivory.
Sorry - this was for a car.

I Beleive the ivory was for mercs, in any case, I ordered a quart of the edsel yellow, we'll have to see how it turns out, otherwise I may end up using Farm implement yellow engine enamel.

Oh, just had another thought, I wonder how close the fisher plow yellow is, That may be durable enough!

I just noticed that the brochure site that brokengate posted in "this and that" contains some Ford brochures that show engine colors. Unfortunately the truck brochure for 54 isn't in color.
