Okay I'm building a 1957 312 y block and need some push rods, I've found about 4 different sizes so far that all claim to work with the 312 y block. Can someone steer me in the right direction of what push rods to use. I will be using ECG-C heads at the moment with normal rockers not high lift as that is all I have on hand at the moment. So far I have found 8.259, 8.129, 8.34, 7.967.

The Mummert-Reese chart does not list a straight ECG-C head.. is yours a ECG-A ECG-C ? That would be a 1955 Power Pack head. Check or link to John Mummert's site for general recommendations for pushrods. However, those are likely for un milled heads. Heavy milling may possibly effect the situation.. Not sure?

Further revision; Eickman's Y-Block book does list The ECG-C head seperately. The Mummert chart makes it appear that it's a combined casting number. It is a 55-272 Power Pack head.
