The 55 jacks were also not too good according to my dad, after the first use it got tossed and replaced with a tripod jack. Found another to put back in its spot but wont use it.

Don't know if that's the right jack or not, but when I aquired my 57 Fairlane 500, I asked the owner where the original jack was? He said he disposed of it, because it wasn't really safe to use & unless used very carefully it would damage the bumper.. True? Don't know?

I pulled this jack out of the trunk of a 58 Ford Fairlane 500. Has the built in "shelf" on the jack head. Did Ford use this style on the Fairlane 500 in 57/58 models , they had the bigger beefier bumpers. What about the 59 Galaxie ?Any help on this ID would be appreciated.
