has any one used a gear reduction starter motor with a Flat-O C4 conversion? if so do you have to change out the bendix for the one in the kit? does the bendix in the kit actually fit a gear reduction starter? not something i intend doing any time soon as i'm a bit short now but just wondered.
thanks in advance

I have wondered that myself. I have never had to replace the stater on my C-4 and though the FE starter spins the Y-Block with ease I thought I would look into installing a gear reduction starter. I don't think the type of drive that comes with the adapter is the same as the gear reduction starter. I'll give Gene at Flat-o a call and see what he has to say and let you know.

thanks M C
i've just looked at some G R starters and they are different the end is free floating ,never noticed before. Gene does one for the flat head and Automotive Electric Services offer one for the Y but not with the C4 . they also offer to build one to your requirements so i would think its doable. just a question of price
