Does anyone know if all FOMs have the same tailshaft lengths,I have a convertible and was wondering if it would have came with a longer tailshaft then the sedans. With a C-4 in it I have to remove the driveshaft to grease the front U joint so when it gets repowered with a Y block I want a trans with a long enough tailshaft,I want a trans with a rear pump to be push started and I just picked up a long tailshaft FMX but found out it does not have a rear pump so I might go back with a FOM since I found a company who can make them start out in first instead of second when left in drive. I cant remember how long the tailshaft was on the original trans.

I'm sure there are a number of opinions on this, while the Fordo's were decent tran's in IMHO the C4 got it beat every which way. Lighter, sucks up less horsepower, much newer technology and you don't have to modify it to start in 1st. How many times do you have to grease the Ujoint???
