Found a couple of things this week that really work. Fouled or Cleaning Spark Plugs: You can use a butane, propane or map gas torch to clean them. Heat the metal tip till its red, follow with wire wheel on the threads and tip. Don't burn your fingers. A little oil on the threads is also good if storing or thread sealer if installing them. Clean Tires: I found Turtle Wax Bug and Tar remover does a swell job of cleaning a tire leaving it looking like natural rubber. Spray it on, work it into the grooves with a tooth brush wipe off with a rag. It really looks good, better than when you bought it. Preserving Tires or Rubber Parts: I found lanolin works very good. You can buy a tube at the drug store for about $3.00 Its best to leave the tube in the sun or gently pass over it with your heat gun to soften it up. Work the lanolin into the rubber, leave it in the sun, and work it in some more. You can use a tooth brush and a rag. Don't wipe it off, leave it on Keeps the rubber supple and from drying out. The souped up Y block in my 54 Ranch Wagon is running and sounds bitchen. Still have lots to do but hope to have it at the Pismo Derelicts by summer.
