UnsureIs anyone having difficulty posting pictures? Every time I try the forum will not allow, comes up with a critical error, whatever that is. Regards Peter.

Picture posting in the forums as it was prior to being moved to the current host site would appear to be history for the time being.  I’m told there is now a memory issue in storing pictures for forum purposes with the new location for the forum.  As such, the use of alternative means for posting pictures such as Photorazor and Photobucket are viable options.  The biggest issue with using outside hosting sites for pictures is if the picture at that alternate location is moved, deleted, or renamed, then that link is lost at the thread level and that picture is no longer viewable without the original poster fixing the link.  I see this happening frequently at other sites and is just something to be cognizant of.

Moderators,

I've a jpg pic of my wheels which is only 143KB. That is not big. Yet, it will not upload due to a server error. Is it possible to find out and post the KB pic size limit in the pic upload area so us users can intelligently navigate this hurdle?

Thanks

Jerome

Hi Jerome,

Please carefully read Ted's response above as to how you must display images.  Since I had to move  the hosting for the site and forum, uploading files directly into the forum is not possible.  Ted explains a work-a-round for this.

Just downloaded photorazor and resized all photos but I am still unable to post photosCrazy. I read the post by Ted but am still unable to understand what is going wrong.  Do I need to download the photos to some sort of web site where they can be accessed by all.  Regards a computer dummy.

I use Photobucket but would suspect that Photorazer is similar in that there is a link provided with your picture in Photorazer that has the [img ][ /img] brackets around it.  You copy that link into the buffer and then paste it into the thread.  The link in the thread then allows the photos to be viewed by directly accessing them from where you’ve stored them in Photorazer.  They are only viewable when the thread is being viewed or read and not during the editing mode.  If Photorazer works differently than this, someone can simply correct me on this.

Photorazor is just a resizing utility.  Photobucket or some similar online image hosting will still be required.

Use "Preview" to make sure the picture shows up before clicking "Post Reply"

Y Blockhead. I think I am going to buy a post office and mail out a photo to every member on the site. THAT would be easy!

Thanks TED will give it a go.
