Hi Ted,

Thanks for the link repair work. I've got little casting letter 'G' heads that I prefer the initial FoMoCo intake porting on when compared with the large casting letter 'G' heads. My understanding is that none of the little 'G' heads were posted during their production period. I'm amazed that different intake and exhaust sand cores were used in casting the two series of 'G' heads. I would have thought that Ford would have used the same sand cores for the intake and exhaust porting on both series of 'G' heads. The combustion chambers appear to be identical in both series of heads.

Being able to post these heads will assure their integrity for my application.

Regards,

Further in one of the posts, John indicates that he's always done 3-6, and 1-8. The pic is just for reference.

Here’s the link to the ‘how to’ pictorial.

I've also gone through some of those other threads and fixed the links within them so they will function again.

And here's another link.

Thanks Charlie: However, possibly I'm not making my question clear? The photo from Oct 29th 2009, taken from above from the intake side, shows the drill center on the left side of the first rocker pedestal. How can that be reinforcing cylinders # 3 or #6?. Further, Ted's posting of Oct. 31st refers to the 2nd pedestal from the left. That's where I'm getting confused!. Not an area where a person wants to make a mistake..

Here are some links.

The links in the first one are broken because of the site update, but I think the two below are those threads.

There was another how-to thread that had pictures but I can't find it.

I tried a search back on this subject, but got no where with it. (however, I aint no computer nerd so it may be my fault?) I do have copies of relevant postings from Oct 29th to 31st 2009, and I have a set of early "G" heads that I'm going to have rebuilt soon. However, when I look at the posting info & photos, it appears that the photo shown on Oct 29th 2009 contains a mistake? If I understand the info correctly, the "posts" are to be installed on cylinders #3 & #6 only, but the photo appears to show the post being intalled at or near # 1, .. or am I missing something here? A clarification would be appreciated, thanks

Paul
