I have a universal sending unit from Mac's Auto, it's rated 12 ohms full and 98 ohms empty.
Does a matching gauge have to be 12/98 or goes it have to be in that ohm range? Say if a gauge is rated 10/137 will it work accurately?

Claim to fame is the car was used as an extra in the movie Diner with Micky Rourke, Steve Gootenburg, Paul Riser and Kevin Bacon.
