My shop manual includes a caution to ensure that the rocker support brackets are not installed upside down as there is a 0.020" difference in bracket height when installed. I have 16 brackets to choose from and the 10 or 12 good ones measure .404 - .416 from the bottom of the support to the bottom of the shaft bore. Nothing close to .020 difference. The manual also does not specify which way is up. One could assume that the part number should read the right way up but we all know what happens when you ass u me. Some of the supports are obviously after market items as the have no part number. Does anybody know what the correct shaft height is? I have at least 8 brackets that measure .411 - .412 on one side. I plan on using the drip trays.
Thank you.
