Keebler, my truck has all the original cross members and the associated engine mount positions but the Y block isn't in the truck. Hopefully another member can provide measurements from the frame to the engine.

I checked that link but I need a little more than I found there. Maybe a dimension from the top of the frame rail to the valley pan and one from the front cab mount to any easily measured point on the engine.

I have a 54 F100 that has been outfitted with IFS so none of the original motor mounts or crossmembers exist. I plan to put a 292 back in and figured it made sense to put it in the same place the original engine was. I was hoping you guys could help with some dimensions. I plan to center the engine left-right but need help with the front-back and the up-down measurements. Any help would be great. Thanks. |
Keebler, your truck would have had a central engine mount in front of the engine and two ears on the bell housing that attach to a crossmember at the rear of the engine. Scroll through the attached file and you will find some diagrams of the frame and other measurements. If you still need more info let me know and I will crawl under my truck and make some measurements. The rear cross member is just in front of the original rear spring hanger. If you can pick a point of reference on a part of the original frame I can measure from the same point on mine. Good luck. http://www.clubfte.com/users/earl/Reference_Material/Reference_Material.html#Vehicle%20Dimension%20Information
