I am having a really difficult time getting these lifters around the crank, connecting rod and pistons.. I even checked the with with a caliper and they are the same size but they will not go in.

Been two days with not ONE in yet. any help would be nice.

Have you tried rotating the engine to see if you can get more clearance?

I think you will have to go thru the cam hole? Cam cavity?? w00t Is your engine still in your car? If not it may help to turn it ∩dsıpǝ poʍu.

Do this advice ring a bell ? ( The lifters are installed from inside the block as they have a mushroom head, unless you have a lot of skill and expeirence, even with the mystical factory tool it is not for 1st timers, experience has shown it is easier to remove engine and do. You will soon get more ideas here but thats my view.

The engine is out. Was in the first day, but that wasnt fun at all, so 2nd day was engine out. I can get some to the holes, but then tips over and wont slide into holes. But the crank and connecting rods keep getting in the way. ARG

As long as you have the engine out it may be easier to flip it over, yank the crank and install to lifters. It's hard to do no matter how look at it with the crank in the way.

I used an extended magnet and got the job done by rotating the crank and of course having the engine upside down.

Ok, basically I had a to weak magnet, kept dropping as I would get to the whole. Went and got a new one and worked awesome. Most of the engine is back together.
