I was on the Fatman Fabrications site looking at their setup for 54-56 Ford front ends. Looks like they have a decent rack and pinion setup for the mid-fifties cars. The site said that the rack and pinion kits have been tested with small block Ford motors, but not with the Y block. Has anyone out there used their kit for the Y block powered 54-56 passenger cars, and what do you think?

check the tech articles section, there's a review and pic's.  I built my own for my 55'bird, and really like it.

I’ve got the Fatman front clip on a ’56 Frame that’s just about ready to put back under my ’55 Club Sedan.  Although I’m putting a 4.6 DOHC on this one, the clip itself is stout enough for a 430 Lincoln if I wanted to go that way but would require some stiffer coil springs.  Here’s a couple of pics.

I installed a fat man kit on my 56 victoria .   Only problem i had was connecting to the original steering column .  a little tight with exhaust  manifold ,  but i made it ....the other problem was  getting the rac with equal number of turns for both directions ,  think i have one more adjustment to make ,  but it drives andhandels well  .......Luck...Sam
