It does look like a keeper Carl, Also check out the black 56 merc with "348" Y-block which is very interesting. Item # 320191058949. Both are very nice & rare "sleepers"

That is a cool Merc.Very impressive engine.As an aside,I think it's interesting how many of these latter day car collectors describe the radio delete on their cars.They don't have any idea that radio delete didn't exist because radios were an option in all 50's car except Caddy,Lincoln and maybe Chrysler/Imperial.
